About the role

At ICF, we make big things happen. 

Join us in supporting HIV.gov systems and the federal Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) initiative. HIV.gov is an IT integrated program that focuses on implementing federal efforts around HIV/AIDS using digital media and information technology to promote coordination and collaboration to enhance the delivery of HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, and treatment services. 

We are currently hiring an Associate Software Engineer for a full-time position to work on exciting and impactful projects across our teams. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Design and develop software applications 

  • Engage in cloud engineering (AWS) 

  • Assist with building and optimizing data pipelines and perform data analysis 

  • Conduct research and contribute to innovative solutions 

  • Utilize emerging AI technologies to drive operational efficiency 

  • Other duties as assigned: Work closely with Tech Leads to track development activities and roadmaps 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 6 months or more of strong programming skills and familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) 

  • 6 months of more experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure 

  • Candidate must reside in the US and work must be performed in the US.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field 

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills 

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities 

  • Strong time management and organizational skills 

  • Familiarity with MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) 

  • Familiarity with task tracking tools (JIRA)  

  • Experience conducting research, organizing, and analyzing information 

  • A passion for learning and solving complex problems in a collaborative environment
