SENIOR QUALITY ENGINER
TRAVERSE CITY, MI – TRAVERSE CITY PLANT

 

As a member of the Quality team, the Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for specializing in areas of quality control engineering for incoming materials. Incumbents in this classification verify incoming materials conform to documented requirements, prepare incoming inspection instructions and equipment operation instructions, and ensuring that nonconforming material is segregated or moved to an area responsible for necessary repairs and then another inspection before use in a Lean manufacturing environment 

 

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Maintain customer concern countermeasure list for Plant issues
  • 8D report creation and coordination
  • Support internal and supplier quality issues
  • Support design changes and trials
  • Mentor technicians on Quality issues
  • CAPA concern tracking chart
  • Special requests from Customer
  • Maintain customer concern countermeasure list for warranty issues
  • PPAP Approval (PSW, AAR, Inspection)
  • SWI’s for Quality tasks
  • Create quality inspection data and forms
  • Update control plan and flow charts
  • Create Monthly DPPM, RPPM, and warranty charts
  • Customer Audits
  • Customer presentations for Quality issues
  • Order tools and spec out equipment
  • Participates in design of call monitoring formats and quality standards.
  • Uses quality monitoring data management system to compile and track performance at team and individual level.
  • Provides actionable data to various internal support groups as needed.
  • Coordinates and facilitates call calibration sessions for Lear staff.
  • Provides feedback concerning quality team leaders and managers.
  • Prepares and analyzes internal quality reports for management staff review.
  • Responsible for new material sample approval.
