Performs responsible work in the coordination of administering the University's recruitment and admissions functions. This position will provide supervision to all admissions staff during certain recruitment activities and in the absence of the Director. This position will provide leadership with technology and selected reporting. Work is performed under minimal supervision and performance is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Director, Admissions
Supervises: Provides general supervision to admissions staff
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following:
- Contributes to the successful accomplishment of the University's enrollment objectives by working with the Director of Admissions to develop and implement a comprehensive student recruitment plan for undergraduate students which includes, but is not limited to the following components: development of an inquiry pool through the use of student search services, outreach (college fairs, high school and community college visits), high school and community college relations, use of the web and emerging technologies, campus visit programs, publications, and correspondence.
- Oversees recruitment territory management and yield activities by monitoring strategies and utilizing tools such as the student information system, NRCCUA Data Lab, and other resources to research, compile data, and produce reports on progress toward meeting enrollment goals.
- Provides support to the recruitment and enrollment plan by coordinating fall and spring travel, including managing registrations and payments, communications for college day/night programs, professional admission organization memberships, campus-based and regional events, and managing a school database for planning high school visits.
- Generates departmental reports of undergraduate and graduate prospective students, applicants, and admitted students.
- Supervises undergraduate admissions counselors.
- Generates various admissions reports for other university departments to assist in the recruitment and matriculation of new students.
- Assists with implementation and utilization of the customer relations module.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of a communication plan for targeted populations including print, digital, web and social media platforms via various recruitment tools which may include third party software such as a CRM.
- Accesses the Texas Common Application's Administrative website on a regular basis to ensure applications are transmitted properly.
- Cross-checks processes to help undergraduate and graduate applications matriculate through as TWU applicants.
- Manages the creation and assignment of recruitment event codes used for tracking the success of each recruitment.
- Responsible for planning and implementing recruitment and yield events, including developing the content for on and off campus events.
- Provides general supervision to admissions staff at recruitment events, for daily admissions office procedures, and in the absence of the Director.
- Reviews score reports as needed for AP, CLEP, IB, ACT and SAT exams.
- Interviews and counsels prospective students and their families either by phone, email or in-office visit.
- Manages data information for list of top feeder high schools.
- Represents the university at recruitment functions; educates prospective students, parents and counselors about the University and its admissions requirements and procedures.
- Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses required by the Director of Admissions.
- Responsible for establishing job standards for subordinate staff and effectively evaluating staff under charge. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES FOR ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS
Assists in reviewing and editing recruitment materials. Performs other duties as requested.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - The following are essential:
