Equipment Layout & Procurement Specialist

About the role
Job Summary
The Equipment Layout and Procurement Specialist supports the planning, sourcing, tracking, and installation of equipment within our facilities. This role is central to maintaining efficient operations by using CAD tools to design layouts, managing procurement processes, coordinating third-party vendors, and maintaining a comprehensive equipment inventory system. The ideal candidate will also assist with construction-related activities and collaborate with the broader facilities team. ASSIGNMENT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Layout & Planning
o Use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to design and update facility floorplans for equipment placement and workflow optimization.
o Collaborate with architect, engineering, operations, and safety teams to ensure layout compliance with process and safety standards.
Procurement & Vendor Management
o Create, prepare, issue, and track equipment purchase orders.
o Coordinate with Internal stakeholders, finance & vendors to ensure timely delivery & accurate invoicing.
o Research and qualify new equipment vendors to expand sourcing options and improve procurement and financial efficiency
Equipment Installation Coordination
o Schedule and oversee equipment installation activities with third-party vendors.
o Ensure installations are executed on time and meet performance specifications.
Inventory and Asset Management
o Maintain a detailed database of all equipment and assets stored in company warehouses.
o Track equipment movements between sites and warehouses as needed.
o Coordinate equipment asset disposition and decommissioning in compliance with company policies. Construction Support
o Assist the Facilities and Construction teams with project execution, site planning, and utility coordination.
o Provide CAD support for construction layouts and participate in site walkthroughs and planning meetings.
Team Collaboration
o Work closely with the broader Facilities team to support initiatives and ongoing operational needs.
o Assist in process improvements related to equipment and facilities planning. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EDUCATION AND ABILITIES
o Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
o 2+ years of customer service experience in facilities operations, maintenance coordination, or related field.
o Familiarity with construction processes, maintenance practices, and safety regulations is a plus.
o Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
o Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software).
o Previous experience with Service Channel SaaS system preferred.
o Experience working with third-party vendors and contractors.
o Excellent problem solving and reasoning skills
o Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
o Excellent communication and documentation skills.
o Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
o Familiarity with asset tracking systems and inventory management practices.
o Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Outlook, Word and Excel
o Computer skills, including word processing, database management, and spreadsheets
Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions/Travel
o Must be able to communicate via phone and/or email
o Ability to sit and or stand for up to 8 hours daily
o Written and spoken English skills required
