The Associate Director, Center for Student Life, directs the department in all aspects of Club Life which includes: clarifying mission of these areas, setting annual goals, expectations, and learning outcomes; supervising professional staff supporting club life; provide direction and guidance in overseeing programs, events, activities, student engagement, and budgets of these areas. Plan and create programs to support student involvement and engagement such as fall and spring club fest and club management training. Act as on-site troubleshooter and project manager. Provide various methods of student and staff trainings utilizing online videos, one on one advisement, and group trainings. Partner with colleagues across the University to ensure consistency in processes related to student club management. Work with the senior leader in partnership with colleagues within the Office of the Dean of Students to support both proactive and responsive approaches to addressing conflict on campus. Serve on divisional and University working groups and committees. Develop and implement programs and services for the Center for Student Life within the Division of Student Affairs to support fostering an inclusive community at NYU. Have involvement in student organization advisement, university and departmental policy oversight, program and service assessment, major programming, budget management, communication, marketing, and collaboration across the Center for Student Life and campus partners. Serves with other CSL staff on leading university wide events, and undertake special projects to be assigned at the discretion of the CSL Leadership Team.
Qualifications
Required Education:Bachelor's DegreePreferred Education:Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration or related degree.Required Experience:5+ years of relevant professional experience in a student affairs environment advising clubs, implementing and coordinating training for new technologies, making presentations, supervising staff, managing budgets or equivalent combination.Preferred Experience:7+ years of relevant professional experience in a student affairs environment. Experience with student organizations, emerging technologies, administrative and facilities management.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate with a diverse population verbally and in writing. Ability to supervise staff and administer budgets. Knowledge of standard office software package.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge of web-based applications, university budget and finance systems.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,000.00 to USD $90,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
