Job Summary
OPEN Health is seeking a Senior Project Financial Analyst to provide project-related financial and analytical support to Project Managers and other operational leaders. The Project Analyst role will be a dedicated business partner to Operations and a liaison to the Finance team. This individual will manage the financial health of multiple projects at once and will work closely with the project team to accurately recognize revenue, forecast backlog and pipeline, track scope changes, monitor project budgets, analyze trends, and establish financial support for business growth.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Providing support to project leadership on the financial aspects of a project lifecycle, including revenue recognition, backlog forecasting, invoicing, budget monitoring, and tracking scope changes
- Ensuring compliance related to contractual commitments with clients and evaluating the financial implications of rebates, discounts, fixed clauses, etc.
- Meeting routinely with project teams to drive successful results by monitoring utilization and resource management
- Monitoring the overall health of assigned projects, including but not limited to revenues, gross profit, receivables, unbilled amounts, project closeouts, and reconciliations
- Preparing and communicating monthly project estimates and comparing actuals to budgets and forecasts
- Reporting and discussing external reporting with clients, as needed
- Coordinating with the finance organization related to reporting, invoicing, cash, vendors, and other project-related activities
- Monitoring subcontractor and vendor contracts and working as a point of contact for external and internal resource providers
- Working with department heads to analyze revenue and the backlog forecast of each project. Identifying how the forecast impacts the department’s financial outlook and staffing needs
- Partnering with Finance team members to identify and implement process improvement opportunities related to revenue recognition, change orders, forecasting, and resource management
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience in business, finance, or a similar field
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Medical Communications industry preferred
- Experience in portfolio financial management, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and forecasting is required
- Strong computer skills are necessary – Advanced knowledge working in Excel required (v-lookups, pivot tables)
- Ability to perform in-depth project analysis utilizing various sources of information to help make and support the decision-making process
- Analytical person with the ability to synthesize data to establish trends and communicate these assessments with non-Finance colleagues
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Effective time management and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
