About Hope Valley Country Club
Established in 1926, Hope Valley Country Club is an elite private club located in Durham, North Carolina. Position Summary
Hope Valley Country Club is seeking friendly, detail-oriented Banquet Servers to provide exceptional service for club events. This role is ideal for hospitality professionals who enjoy creating memorable guest experiences in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the complete setup and breakdown of banquet and event spaces
Read and execute all specifications listed on Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
Circulate throughout events serving trays of appetizers and beverages
Serve and refill alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a professional manner
Follow safe work practices and proper food handling standards
Communicate any service issues or guest concerns to a supervisor promptly

Job Requirements

No prior banquet or serving experience required — we are happy to train the right candidate
Friendly, positive attitude with a willingness to provide excellent service
Ability to listen, learn, and follow directions for event setup and service
Strong teamwork skills and a desire to help where needed
Basic understanding of food and beverage service, or willingness to learn
Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, and guests
Willingness to follow food safety guidelines and safe work practices
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events
Ability to lift and carry trays, chairs, and event equipment (up to approximately 25–30 lbs)
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance
Alcohol service certification preferred, but can be obtained after hire

 
Qualifications
Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages (May vary by state)
Must have all certifications and licenses as required by local Health Department and Alcoholic Beverage Commission statutes
Ability to enforce company policies and laws and regulations regarding consumption of alcohol.

Walk, sit, stand for long periods of time, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Lift up to 25 lbs. regularly; up to 50 lbs. occasionally and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.
