The FP&A Brand Lead will own and drive financial planning and analysis activities with a core focus on one of our next generation apparel brands. This role is critical to ensuring the financial health, operational efficiency, and growth of the brand by delivering insightful analysis, proactive decision support, and collaborative financial leadership.
As the FP&A Brand Lead, you will be responsible for end-to-end financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring the brand's financial health and aligning strategic goals with financial outcomes. You will work closely with leaders in marketing, merchandising, operations, and other key departments to provide actionable insights, evaluate performance, and identify opportunities for optimization.
This is a critical role for a self-starter with a growth mindset, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a talent for translating complex data into clear, actionable strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning & Forecasting:
  • Own and manage long-term, annual, and monthly financial planning processes for the brand, including revenue forecasting, cost management, and profitability analysis.
  • Lead the development and presentation of P&L projections, highlighting key assumptions and risks.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with leaders across marketing, merchandising, operations, and product teams to align financial planning with strategic goals.
  • Serve as the go-to financial partner for brand leadership, providing insights to support informed decision-making.
  • Share insights across brands and departments to drive outcomes across the full a.k.a. portfolio

  • Performance Management:
  • Monitor key financial metrics and operational KPIs, ensuring they are tracked, understood, and actionable.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to deliver real-time visibility into financial and operational performance.

  • Strategic Analysis:
  • Perform scenario analyses, cost-benefit evaluations, and deep dives into specific business challenges to uncover growth opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate new initiatives, such as product launches, marketing initiatives, pricing strategies, market expansion, and M&A
  • Compare performance against key peers

  • Team & Process Leadership:
  • Mentor and guide junior team members and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Drive process enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in financial planning and reporting.

  • Innovation & Technology:
  • Stay abreast of financial tools, systems, and industry trends to leverage technology for enhanced performance and forecasting accuracy.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis within a consumer-focused organization, preferably with direct-to-consumer or omni-channel brands in the Shopify ecosystem. Apparel industry experience is a strong plus

Knowledge & Skills

  • Advanced Excel / financial modeling skills
  • Proficiency with software systems such as NetSuite, Planful, and Tableau is highly desired
  • CPA, CFA, or relevant professional certification is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis tools
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment, and
  • Demonstrated experience in motivating and developing a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with ability effectively monitor project timelines and manage to key deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and business needs with a desire to continuously learn, expand, and improve
