Rehab Therapy Extern

 

$14.00 per hour

 

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a new rotation of Rehab therapy extern's at our Downtown Dallas Hospital.

 

This is a paid position primarily working Sat and/or Sun 6-8 hour shifts to support the weekend therapy program.

 

Extern's will receive extensive training in therapy process and will have hands on experience with patients.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of a therapist, the extern assists patients in the rehabilitation process through provision of requested activities. You'll prepare and maintain equipment and treatment area for daily activities.  Will participate in educational lectures as designated and participate in mentoring programs provided by the department and staff therapists plus complete annual competencies in a timely manner. 

 

Extern's are expected to make a 2 year commitment to the program. The extern is also expected to be available to work at Minimum 4 weekend days a month.

Qualifications

Current enrollment in a 2 year or 4 year college program that is pre-physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nursing or other related health care field.
