Job Description:
V2X is growing and the company is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support our dynamic programs under the Transportation Solutions Portfolio. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert regarding all assessment and deployment phase activities for the implementation of electrical and data infrastructure in support of government facilities and/or Transportation Security Equipment (TSE). The Electrical Engineer will support primarily the Checked Baggage Screening Equipment Deployment Services (SEDS) Program, which is a task order-based program, supporting nationwide airport projects. In some instances, there may be multiple projects at a single airport. The projects to be supported will be at varying phases of the TSA deployment life cycle including Planning, Design, Construction, Installation, Testing and Project Closeout.
Responsibilities:
The Electrical Engineer will support project planning, coordination, and technical advisement services to facilitate Transportation Security Equipment (TSE) installation, integration, networking, testing, removal, and relocation as required by the checked baggage task order or checkpoint project. The position is the Electrical technical liaison to the SEDS program and its Task Orders throughout the life cycle of each assigned project. The day-to-day responsibilities of this role are as follows:
- Lead the Electrical design process for construction projects of various sizes, including uninterruptible power supplies, and other critical Electrical infrastructure.
- Conduct thorough reviews of Electrical plans and construction documents to ensure compliance with industry standards, National Electrical codes, airport authority and other project specific requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact providing technical guidance and support throughout all project phases.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
- Development and oversight of electrical project specifications, Concept, 100%, and Issued for Construction drawings.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates for proposed electrical systems and equipment.
- Perform analysis and research to recommend power conditioning devices within the external power feed lines at airports providing power to the TSA provided equipment to ensure compliance to manufacturer standards of voltage surges and sags, power factor, and distortion.
- Prepare and review subcontractor statements of work.
- Lead the preparation and review of Power System Engineering Analysis, the monitoring of electric power quality of polyphase alternating current power systems in accordance with Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Std 1159-2019, IEEE Recommended Practice for Monitoring Electric Power Quality and IEEE 519-2014, IEEE Recommended Practice and Requirements for Harmonic Control in Electric Power Systems, for the power quality events.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and other critical electrical components.
- Provide ongoing support for project implementation, including troubleshooting, resolving technical issues, and ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of (5) years of relevant experience Electrical power distribution system calculation, design, and deployment.
- Experience with Project Management preferably on airport design and/or construction projects involving Electrical power distribution systems, including basic proficiency with Microsoft Project scheduling software.
- Experience with planning and design, with specific experience with construction phasing and airport/airline operations.
