Job Description
AECOM is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of a AVP, Senior Water Leader for the DC and Northern Virginia Area within the Southeast sub-area of the East Region. The successful candidate would report to the Southeast Regional Business Line Leader (RBLL) for the Water Business Line in the US East geography and coordinate closely with the local Area Business Line Leads.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Develop, capture, and grow AECOM’s Municipal and non-federal Water market share across the DC Metro area
- Serve as Principal in charge for existing clients across the DC and Northern Virginia portfolio of clients and projects and work with local staff to identify and engage new clients.
- Participate in conferences key to the DC and Northern Virginia water business portfolio.
- Assist in leading key pursuits, proposal reviews and interview preparation.
- Align business plans and growth strategies to national and regional objectives and initiatives.
- Lead and develop a strong and diverse team of technical practitioners, business development teams, and operations managers towards excellence in project delivery.
- Oversee the management of all phases of Project Execution.
- Meet and/or exceed Financial Performance Goals (revenue, wins, bookings, profit/margin, AR management, cash, budgeting)
- Mentor and develop staff and support career planning.
- Collaborate with the Director Of Operations to foster and promote a culture of excellence in Project Management and Project Delivery
- Apply best practices to project delivery by leveraging technology and standard methodologies of the Technical Practice Network (TPN)
- Implement Key AECOM initiatives
- Coordinate with the office of Risk Management to ensure Health and Safety measures are properly implemented.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental or related technical discipline
- 10 years of experience in the water market and programs in the DC and/or Northern Virginia area, with at least two years in a leadership or management role
- Demonstrated experience managing project managers, engineers, designers, and technicians.
- Proven experience in the successful management of business financials for engineering and consulting contracts.
- Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
- AECOM Project Management Certification (applies only to internal AECOM candidates)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in relevant technical discipline
- 15 years of experience in water market and programs in the DC and/or Northern Virginia area, with at least five years in a leadership or management role
- Professional Engineering License in DC and/or VA
