School Summary
California Online Public School is a network of tuition-free public online schools for students in grades K–12. The network of schools is operated by the nonprofit California Online Public Schools and currently includes six schools serving students in 32 counties in California. California Online Public School are accredited by the Schools Commission of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
Position Overview
California Online Public School, a network of WASC accredited, tuition-free public online schools for grades K–12, is seeking a highly qualified and California Certified Science Teacher to serve our High School population. Applicants with Biology and Physics authorizations strongly preferred.
Position Responsibilities:
● Complete grading, generate progress reports, and conduct timely parent conferences.
● Support the instructional program through web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction.
● Review curriculum, devise alternative teaching approaches, and work directly with students and parents.
● Collaborate with teachers to ensure successful student progress, maintain a central point of contact for parents, and distribute tasks among the team.
● Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the K-12 curriculum and detailed knowledge of assigned courses.
● Provide support to students and parents, offering alternate strategies and additional assistance with assignments.
● Keep student records and data up-to-date, including cumulative files and attendance accounting.
● Consult with teachers and staff to create alternate enrichment activities and modifications to enhance student understanding.
● Manage regional field trips, integrate trips into the curriculum, and participate in State Testing administration.
● Represent the school in student recruiting sessions and marketing efforts, requiring occasional overnight stays in California.
● Collaborate with counselors, teachers, and support staff to ensure effective communication and student progress.
● Attend field trips and community activities for families.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
●Must be able to use a personal electronic device and email address for 2-step authentication.
●California Single Subject Science Credential
● Strong technology skills, especially in Microsoft OS, MS Office and Google Suite Programs.
● Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
● Strong organizational skills, adaptable to a fast-paced, ever evolving environment.
● Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.
● Will have to travel on occasion for in-person events.
● Flexible attitude and ability to adapt to new roles and responsibilities.

This position ranges from $74,455 to $97,214.91 based on relevant education and experience.
