About the job

As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role as the EHS Coordinator supports the implementation, tracking, and continuous improvement of Alfa Laval’s Environmental, Health, and Safety programs within the US Sales and Service Division. This role will assist in day-to-day EHS tasks, ensure documentation accuracy, promote regulatory and policy compliance, and help drive engagement in a proactive safety culture. Contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization. Currently, this is an On Site opportunity located in Houston – Greenspoint.

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Support safety initiatives across the US Sales and Service Division, in alignment with Alfa Laval global and US safety strategies.
  • Assist the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager, US Sales and Service.
  • Conduct and document safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Hazard Assessments.
  • Coordinate track safety and environmental training, including onboarding, annual refreshers, and certification renewals.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and regulatory documentation (OSHA logs, SDSs, waste manifests, etc.).
  • Monitor and follow up on hazard observations, corrective actions, and incident reports.
  • Support facility waste management activities, including labeling, storage, vendor coordination, and documentation for hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to monthly safety communications.
  • Assist with audits (internal and external) and support compliance with OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, and other relevant regulations.
  • Maintain EHS dashboards and KPIs, including tracking near misses, leading indicators, and audit findings.
  • Provide support during emergency drills and coordinate visitor and contractor safety onboarding.
  • Stay informed on regulatory updates and best practices in safety and environmental compliance.
  • Learn and stay current with changing regulations and new innovations in safety technology in the areas of Environment, Safety and Health.
  • Support the completion of the incident log to identify trends and the Summarized Incident Report.
  • Work with the adaptation and/or development of new safety policies for the site ensuring policies are usable, understood and consistently followed.
  • Support workers’ compensation process and claims at the facility.
  • Basic knowledge of employment laws interrelated to Work Compensation, HIPPA, FMLA, and ADA.

What you know:

You have associate or bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, or related, with relevant experience, and:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, or service-based environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, in both office and hands-on environments.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Close cooperation and collaboration with employees, vendors, customers, and contractors across the country. 

Preferred:

  • OSHA 10/30 certification.
  • HAZWOPER 40 certification or willingness to obtain.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Experience with waste management and regulatory reporting (e.g., OSHA 300 logs, Tier II, etc.).
  • Work towards achieving Board of Certified Safety Processionals (BCSP) certification.
  • Demonstrated leadership in environmental and safety practices preferably with current or past OSHA 30 and HAZWOPER 40 certifications or the ability to achieve both certifications within three months of hire.
