JOB OPPORTUNITY: RESEARCH PROJECT MANAGER on a 5-year longitudinal study

Location: Los Angeles, CA (the position requires the individual to be based in Los Angeles

FULL-TIME

Date of posting: June 17, 2024

Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000 annually

Project title: A longitudinal examination of factors predicting the social networks and mental health services of Black and Latinx Individuals with serious mental illnesses (Co-Principal Investigators: Rohini Pahwa, PhD and Erin Kelly, PhD).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct a 5-year mixed methods longitudinal research study and supervise staff 
  • Implement recruitment plans
  • Screen participants for eligibility
  • Obtain participant consent and schedule assessments
  • Oversee participant compensation, reconcile petty cash and participant compensation logs
  • Refine and implement tracking protocols to maintain high follow-up and retention rates
  • Conduct interviews with participants as needed
  • Monitor participant enrollment and retention and prepare regular reports
  • Perform other related activities as required

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Master’s degree or higher in social work, public health, psychology, nursing, or other social/behavioral science disciplines
  • Excellent communicator – demonstrated interpersonal, written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate, collaborate, and establish and maintain good working relationships with a diverse group of multi-disciplinary researchers, staff, and partners
  • Experience with longitudinal research and participant tracking
  • Experience managing a team and/or supervising staff
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Willing to travel within Los Angeles for project activities

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Familiarity with institutional review boards, HIPAA regulations, and clinical research standards.
  • Experience with working with adults with serious mental illnesses
