Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Architecture Designer for it's Washington DC / Arlington, VA offices.

This position is expected to begin May or June 2024. 

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing basic architectural calculations.
  • Preparing and reviewing drawings as required.
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.
  • May coordinate technical assignments with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
  • Participate in fieldwork and construction administration services.
  • Use current software platforms (including Revit) to develop contract documents, 3D models and presentations.
  • Prepare documentation regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, or construction time.
  • Maintain conformance with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes.
  • Work on a multi-disciplinary team with architects and engineers delivering all phases of exciting architectural projects in a variety of markets.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks daily.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively within a team environment.
  • Excellent 2D and 3D visual / graphic & design skills.
  • Experience with the following is a plus: BIM-Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Bluebeam Revu, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Sketchup Pro, and Adobe Photoshop.

  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position typically is $ 28 - $33/hour.
