Core Responsibilities

Perform geotechnical design and analysis for foundations, earthworks, slope stability, seepage, lateral pressures, and construction observation.

Conduct geotechnical earthquake engineering analyses including hazard, site response, seismic deformation, soil-structure interaction, liquefaction, and lateral spreading.

Plan and execute subsurface investigations, laboratory testing, and geotechnical instrumentation installation, monitoring, and interpretation.

Design geotechnical elements with senior team members for public and private infrastructure and building projects.

Manage projects, resources, and staff; prepare reports and submittals; and assist with proposal development.

Develop client relationships and participate in local professional communities.
You’ll thrive here if you

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.

Minimum 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering practice with an emphasis on geotechnical design and analysis, geotechnical field investigation, and construction supervision.

Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of California.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team-based work.

Extensive geotechnical background with fundamentals in soil and rock mechanics, earthquake engineering, pavement engineering, and groundwater hydrogeology.

Experience with geotechnical software for slope stability (Slide, Slope/W), pile modeling (L-pile, Shaft, All Pile), and site response (Shake, DeepSoil).

Familiarity with standards and deliverables (DSA/CGS, Caltrans) preferred.

Experience in construction oversight for foundations and earthwork observation.
