We are growing our locations and are investing more than $2 billion into establishing a new large-scale manufacturing site for biopharmaceuticals in the United States to accelerate the growth of our Bio CDMO (Contract and Development Manufacturing Organization) business. This will be the largest end-to-end cell culture CDMO provider in North America.
The new site will offer end-to-end solutions to our customers looking to manufacture biopharmaceuticals in the US. In addition to drug substance manufacture, it will also provide automated fill-finish and assembly, packaging, and labeling services. The new state-of-the-art facility is located in Holly Springs, North Carolina, United States.
About This Role
The Senior IT Engineer 2, OSS Platform is responsible for operations and maintenance of the local Open Source technology stack to support manufacturing operations from an IT/OT perspective in a global organization. This position acts as a single point of contact and escalation for the locally used systems and ensures the most appropriate level of service is supplied to meet future business needs. The role will initially be part of the local IT project team responsible for implementing all infrastructure and applications necessary to bring FDB’s new site in Holly Springs, NC, online. The role functions as a local extension of the Global IT team reporting into the Sr. Director, IT, ensuring local implementation and 24/7 support in alignment with global support processes.

What You’ll Do
- Monitors, manages, and troubleshoots end user computing systems across FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies
- Assists in the establishment and alignment of roadmaps across IT & OT
- Designs and implements tools and services bridging the gap between IT & OT
- Designs and builds a modern, flexible, and mature service delivery model
- Champions new technologies, like open source and cloud native activities, and acts as an Open Source evangelist
- Designs and implements a fit-for-purpose containerization platform
- Participates in industry forums to stay-abreast of current trends and promotes our way of working and accomplishments
- Acts as a mentor and trusted advisor to the infrastructure team to help mature technical depth within the team
- Provides level 3 support, including resolving the most complex technical issues within the OSS area of operations
- Provides critical technical guidance and expertise
- Creates and deploys application packages for use on end point devices
- Assists with other projects involving the infrastructure and application systems teams
- Analyzes inquiries and participates in on-call rotation for critical incident management
- Determines appropriate technical area or vendor to resolve problems
- Participates in project execution and quality assurance, as needed
- Ensures and drives service delivery of the IT ServiceDesk
- Other duties, as assigned
Who You Are
You will be responsible for operations and maintenance of the local Open Source technology stack to support manufacturing operations from an IT/OT perspective in a global organization.
Basic Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with 14 years of experience with open source technologies OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
- Business Administration or equivalent major with 10 years of experience with open source technologies OR
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
- Business Administration equivalent major with 8 years of experience with open source technologies
- Experience implementing Enterprise Linux/*NIX hosting capabilities
- Knowledge of OpenStack tools, such as Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar
- Foundational understanding of security Open Source technologies
- Experience with manufacturing IT/OT
- Excellent troubleshooting skills to ide
