Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) seeks to find a Senior Principal Software Engineer in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU) to support a Ground program. 

This position will be located at our Morrisville, North Carolina facility.  This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work. 

What You’ll get to Do:  We are looking for a Software Engineer experienced in Java (as your primary and most skilled in Object-Orientated programming language) who wants to work on an agile development team using modern development practices tackling both new development and operational support of systems that advance National Security.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance at time of application

  • Minimum years of experience needed to be considered:

    • 8 Years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's

    • 6 Years of relevant experience with a completed Masters's

    • 4 Years of relevant experience with a completed associate’s degree

    • 12 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a completed degree (High School diploma or equivalent is required)

  • Must have above minimum experience on the below:

    • Experience in Agile (object orientated design), JIRA, and Confluence.

    • Experience with Java, Kubernetes, Dockers, and micro service architecture

    • Experience with JavaScript frameworks and Publisher/Subscriber architectures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Keycloak or Open Authentication (OATH) technology, and no SQL database. 

  • Experience with software system integration, testing, and deployment, including but not limited to automation.

Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
