Messari is the leading provider of crypto market intelligence products that help professionals navigate crypto/Web3 with confidence. THE ROLE

Messari is committed to providing the richest and most accurate on-chain data to our customers. As a Backend Engineer on our On-Chain Data team, you’d help build the systems and tooling necessary to tackle the ever growing umbrella of blockchain data needed to power our products. This is an exciting opportunity to build high-scale data infrastructure and gain exposure to the cutting edge of web3 data.

From a technical side, our APIs are written in GraphQL, REST, and gRPC depending on the use case. We like Go for its simplicity and maintainability, and Postgres for features and reliability. We deploy using Kubernetes on Amazon Web Services. That being said, we’re not dogmatic and always believe in using the best tool for the job.

WHAT YOU'LL DO: 

• Design and implement APIs for various services that allow for data consumption and downstream analysis (REST, gRPC, GraphQL).
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and research analysts to design systems/tools for both internal and external data consumption
• Work with and build on the latest in blockchain data streaming tech and design unique solutions around the associated challenges
• Dive deep into designing interfaces and data modeling for a variety of web3 data sources
• Build reliable and scalable systems alongside a team of supportive and collaborative engineers

WHO YOU ARE: 

• 2+ years experience with a modern backend language & stack (Big plus if you’ve worked with Golang, Postgres, Kubernetes, and AWS services before)
• Experience designing and implementing APIs (REST & GraphQL)
• A passion for shipping high-quality products and working on complex data and infrastructure problems
• An interest in the crypto space, and a love for building tools that help users navigate the web3 world
• Empathetic, respectful and willing to work alongside a globally distributed team

Projects You Could Work On:

• Messari Data API - Design and implement APIs for a variety of Messari’s rich off-chain and on-chain data sources
• On-Chain Data Infra - Work on infrastructure related to ingestion, transformation, and consumption of Blockchain data into our data warehouse tech

Salary Ranges for this position (depending upon experience):#LI-AS1 

• Associate: $135,000 - $150,000
• Mid: $150,000 - $185,000
• Senior: $185,000 - $200,000+
