Precision
United States - Remote, United StatesRemotefull_timeVerifiedPosted 8 Sept 2023

About the role

Our mission at Precision is to develop and commercialize brain-computer interfaces (BCI). We are pursuing minimally invasive approaches to BCI to address major unmet clinical needs. We are well-capitalized and have an IP portfolio that has been built over nearly 10 years.

Brain-computer interfaces represent a new frontier in medicine and computing. We seek to establish Precision Neuroscience as one of the leading companies in this space globally. Our core objective is to deliver life-changing technology to millions of patients worldwide, and in doing so to transform the ways we interact with machines, one another, and our world.

We are seeking a Senior Digital IC Designer to join our hardware engineering team in developing electronics for our implantable brain-computer interface (BCI).

In this role you will contribute to a well-defined application that has interesting constraints, while you work with a team that is at the top of its field.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to join our core team to help shape the future of our company. Your work will see commercialization quickly so that we improve the lives of patients who live with neurological disorders in a matter of months and years, not decades.

This position can be remote within the US, or you are welcome to work from one of our offices in MN, CA, NY or TX. We are unable to consider candidates who are not currently in the US with working rights.

You will:

  • Design and develop the digital integrated circuits for our implant, adhering to size and power constraints.
  • Perform RTL design, synthesis, place-and-route, behavioral simulation, back-annotation, power optimization, and timing closure/signoff.
  • Perform chip tape-outs, testing and characterization.
  • Collaborate with industry leading manufacturing partners on fabrication of some components of our device.
  • Create and update end-user technical documentation, product specifications and vendor procedures.
  • Participate in detailed, collaborative discussions about the impact of your designs on the overall BCI design.
  • Collaborate with the rest of our team to publish and present our work.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree with 3+ years’ industry experience or PhD in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), Computer Engineering (CE) or related field.
  • Expertise using industry standard EDA tools such as Cadence, Mentor (Cadence is preferred).
  • Expertise in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Experience designing digital circuits in 180 nm or smaller processes.
  • Tape-out experience including successful testing and characterization.
  • Comfortable with using a range of lab instruments such as signal generators, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc (preferred)
  • Scripting skills with TCL, Python, SKILL (preferred).
  • Expertise in C, C++ (preferred).
  • Experience with low-power digital design, clock gating, power management, etc. (preferred).
  • Experience with functional modeling and logic verification (preferred).

Diverse workforces create the best culture, company, and products. We at Precision Neuroscience are committed to an inclusive culture that celebrates the uniqueness and contributions of everyone. As an equal opportunity employer, Precision Neuroscience does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, religion, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
