Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer/ Principal Mechanical Engineer - Support Equipment to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

Accomplish

The selected candidate will contribute in the research, design, analysis, manufacture, and testing associated with aircraft Support Equipment.

Essential Functions:

• Mechanical design of test, measurement, and handling equipment used on military aircraft.

• Gathering of data, requirements development, interfacing with suppliers, and performing basic stress and tolerance analysis

• Acting as manufacturing liaison during build process of your project to ensure overall quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved

• Development of test plans and performing environmental testing of Support Equipment

• Testing and integration of manufactured Support Equipment on aircraft

• Basic knowledge of design and analysis tools for mechanical design as well as basic drafting skills to include a working knowledge of solid modeling techniques (NX, Pro Engineer, or Catia).

**This position may be filled by either Mechanical Engineer or Principal Mechanical Engineer level based on the qualifications listed. **

Basic Qualifications for Mechanical Engineer:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM from an accredited university and two years’ experience in the design of mechanical and/or electro-mechanical subsystems OR a Masters in Mechanical Engineering with 0 years of related experience.

• Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated DoD Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.

• Experience using CAD software in generating detailed engineering drawings used for manufacturing of mechanical and/or electrical assemblies
