The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer to support our Loadable Software Engineering team located in Seattle or Everett, Washington. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Software Engineering organization. 

The ideal candidate is passionate about creating and maintaining a secure operating environment across various cloud service providers. By leveraging automation technologies, you will help build and sustain infrastructure, computing systems, and applications through a robust DevSecOps pipeline. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Senior Level Software Engineers. 

 

Position Responsibilities:  

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes for COTS and custom-built applications 

  • Integrate DevSecOps tools to automate security checks and vulnerability assessments within the CI/CD pipeline 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, security, operations, and product teams, to ensure security is embedded in all phases of the application lifecycle 

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior Software Developers and DevSecOps Engineers, promoting best practices in automation, security, and cloud operations 

  • Enhance operational security by implementing robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems 

  • Participate in Agile SAFE ceremonies, providing input on security and automation best practices 

  • Strong understanding of networking and network security concepts 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CI/CD processes, security tools, and operational security 

  • Provide training and guidance to teams on CI/CD, DevSecOps, and operational security best practices 

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements through automated checks and controls 

  • Document and maintain CI/CD workflows, security protocols, and operational procedures 

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): 

  • 5+ years of experience with Development Operations (DevOps) 

  • 5+ years of experience with GitLab, DevOps tools (ADO and/or AWS), and CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment 

  • 5+ years of experience with cloud-platform technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) 

  • 5+ years of experience with networking basics (VPCs, subnets, routing, load balancers, DNS, etc.) 

 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathem
