Description

Spider Mountain Bike Park is looking for a bike shop rental manager to join our team!  The rental manager will be responsible for issuing, maintaining and repairing rental bikes, and personal bikes of our guests, while ensuring guest satisfaction and equipment safety.  This role combines excellent customer service with strong mechanical skills to provide well-fitting, high-performing, safe bikes all while supporting shop operations in a fast-paced mountain bike environment.

Qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Issue proper and well-fitting rental equipment to guests, adjusting settings per manufacturer settings.
  • Inspection of rental fleet bikes for damage, wear or malfunction, ensuring compatibility and safety standards.
  • Perform repairs, maintenance and tuning of bike components (brakes, gears, wheels, suspension, tires, chains, etc.).
  • Assemble new bikes and diagnose mechanical issues and providing accurate repair estimates.
  • Process returned equipment, storing it appropriately and maintaining an organized, clean and safe workplace.
  • Answer guest questions about rental procedures, resort operations and technical bike details.
  • Communicate clearly with customers about service options, timelines and equipment use.
  • Keep detailed records of services performed, parts used and assist with inventory management and restocking.
  • Support cross-departmental tasks, including assistance to sales staff with technical expertise.
  • Performance of other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

  • Performance of duties in an indoor/outdoor shop setting involving physical labor and handling tools.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift 40 lbs overhead.
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays and occasional weekday operations.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service and clear communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of bike components, brands and tools, with the ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues independently.
  • Prior experience as a bike mechanic (Preferred).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to assist with tasks.
