Blackstone Alternative Asset Management (BAAM®) manages approximately $80 billion across a diversified set of businesses, including a customized portfolio solutions business, a special situations platform, a business that purchases GP stakes in alternative asset managers, an open-ended mutual fund platform, and an emerging manager seeding business. BAAM invests across a variety of asset classes and strategies to create solutions for its investors. Job Title: BAAM- Special Situations Analyst
Job Description:
Analyst with BAAM’s Special Situations Group, focused specifically on risk transfer and risk sharing transactions with banks. These transactions are highly structured with BAAM purchasing a first or second-loss tranche, with an array of underlying assets ranging from corporate credit to fund finance. The job will entail sourcing, underwriting, executing, and monitoring these transactions. Day-to-day work will include transaction modeling, fundamental and quantitative credit underwriting, analysis of legal documents, research of new asset classes, preparation of investment committee memos, and engagement with internal and external counsel.

We are looking for individuals who can develop creative and innovative solutions for our business with the goal of assuming increased leadership responsibilities over time.
In addition to strong commercial understanding, excellent communication skills, effective presentation skills and strong conceptual and analytical thinking skills, the successful candidate should have:
1+ years of experience
Experience either investing in, advising on, or researching structured credit (CLOs, RMBS, CMBS, whole business securitizations, etc.) or fundamental investment grade or high yield credit.
Familiarity with legal documents governing securitizations or fundamental credit (credit agreements, indentures, etc.)
Basic (at a minimum) knowledge of fundamental credit underwriting
Proficiency with Excel, Bloomberg, PowerPoint

Expected annual base salary range:
$100,000 - $110,000Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
