Pediatric Occupational Therapist - Full Time
As a pediatric Occupational Therapist, you will provide high-quality care services to children aged birth to 17 years of age. The primary goal will be to support these children in achieving developmental milestones and enhancing their overall quality of life. You will collaborate and communicate with families, caregivers, physicians, referring providers, multidisciplinary staff and other professionals. We provide one-on-one therapies that are tailored to meet the individual needs of our patients.
This is a Monday-Friday position with weekends and holiday commitments. This position is located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
** This is a rotating position. Rotation can include working on our many acute care units, ambulatory surgery, acute inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient rehabilitation. Schedule will be determined based on rotation and will include Tuesday – Saturday or Sunday - Thursday. A varying shift of 7:00 am – 3:00 pm or 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
**Weekends and Holiday commitments will be working in the Adult and or Pediatric inpatient settings.
Preferred Criteria:
- Master’s degree in occupational therapy
- National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
Required Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy
- New York State Occupational Therapy licensure
- At least one year of pediatric OT experience working with infants, toddlers, young children, and adolescents in a hospital-based inpatient and or outpatient pediatric setting.
- Strong knowledge of child development, sensory integration theory, and evidence-based occupational therapy interventions
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification required.
