The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works team is seeking experienced Paint & Coatings Manufacturing Engineers located in Berkeley, MO.

 Position Overview: We are looking for a Paint & Coatings Manufacturing Engineer to join our team.  Responsibilities will include collaborating with a team to scope, develop, test, and integrate innovative paints/coatings research/development/specification projects aimed at advancing aerospace products and production methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements production and tooling methodologies

  • Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines

  • Develops, identifies and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build

  • Leads and implements manufacturing plans

  • Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements

  • Assists in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices

  • Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions

  • Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule

  • Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts

  • Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems. Implements lean principles and technologies

  • Conduct analysis and qualification of materials, processes and equipment by conducting laboratory tests and documenting findings in accordance with specifications and customer requirements

  • Develop and revise documents, technical requirements, and test methods

  • Execute continuous improvement efforts by completing the design, fabrication, and testing of new concepts and technology

  • Innovate to solve engineering or production challenges in the area of paints/coatings/polymer science/ sealants/ corrosion

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 2+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelors Degree OR an equivalent combination of work-related experience and technical education.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • (Level 3) 5+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelors Degree OR an equivalent combination of work-related experience and technical education.

  • Experience supporting stabilization and improvement efforts in a manufacturing setting

  • Experience supporting defense and/or aerospace customers
