Cyber Software Engineer, Senior Advisor

Responsibilities

Peraton has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Cyber Intel team here in Laurel, MD. You'll get the opportunity to work with a massively parallel enterprise platform, built with Java on Free and Open Source Software products including Kubernetes, Hadoop and Accumulo, to enable execution of data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure. We are looking for a software engineer to augment the existing foundations team. A successful candidate for this position has experience doing Linux administration on large Hadoop and Accumulo based clusters using Centos 7 or RHEL.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph is required
• Twenty (20) years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required
• Five (5) years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
• Experience in Java programming for distributed systems, that includes networking and multi-threading

Experience with the following skills is highly desired:

• Apache Hadoop
• Apache Accumulo
• Apache Zookeeper
• Apache NiFi
• HAProxy
• Agile development experience
• Python/Bash
• Configuration Management Software (Salt, Puppet or Ansible)
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Linux operating system monitoring and tuning
• Linux operating system level virtualization
• Committer/contributor to open source application

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
