Senior Accounting and Tax Supervisor

<p></p><p><strong>International Airport of Heraklion, Crete S.A.</strong> is currently looking for a: </p><p><strong>Senior Accounting and Tax Supervisor</strong></p><p></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul> <li>Leads the preparation of monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.</li> <li>Oversees the month-end and year-end close processes ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.</li> <li>Ensures integrity of the General Ledger and Trial Balance.</li> <li>Coordinates with external auditors to manage annual audits and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.</li> <li>Develops and maintains robust internal controls over financial reporting (Cost Centers, Cost Drivers, ABC costing processes).</li> <li>Monitors Fixed Assets Register and Fixed Assets Inventory. </li> <li>Applies Cost Accounting principles for several aspects of cost allocation activities </li> </ul><ul> <li>Ensures timely preparation, review and submission of all corporate Tax statements </li> <li>Coordinates with external tax consultants and advisors</li> <li>Oversees withholding tax compliance, documentation and implementation.</li> <li>Stays updated with tax laws and regulations and applies all changes promptly </li> <li>Manages tax provision processes </li> </ul><ul> <li>Leads and develops a high-performing team of accounting and tax experts.</li> <li>Drives process improvements, automation and system upgrades to enhance efficiency and accuracy.</li> <li>Provides insights and recommendations for budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning.</li> </ul><p></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field </li> <li>Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field will be preferred</li> <li>Min 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in managerial capacity.</li> <li>ACCA is required. </li> </ul><ul> <li>Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS) and tax laws.</li> <li>Experience with ERP systems (SAP is preferable) </li> <li>Excellent knowledge of English language, both oral and written</li> <li>Strong Excel skills. </li> </ul><p></p><p><strong>Preferred Skills:</strong></p><ul> <li>Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.</li> </ul><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p>
