PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Sr. Director of Training and Communications leads the strategy, design, execution, and continuous improvement of Slim Chickens’ training and internal communication programs. This role drives operational excellence, employee engagement, and leadership development by ensuring alignment between training, communication, and the brand's strategic goals. The position oversees both the Training & Development function and the management of internal communications across the organization.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Training & Development

· Develop and lead the strategic direction of the Training & Development function to support business goals.

· Oversee the creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of training programs and materials.

· Manage and develop the training team, particularly for new store openings, ensuring standardized onboarding and execution.

· Partner with Operations and HR to assess organizational training needs and deploy effective solutions.

· Align key stakeholders for training strategies tied to system-wide initiatives such as menu launches, procedural changes, or equipment rollouts.

· Deliver training to enhance the capabilities of franchise partners and multi-unit leaders.

· Maintain and manage an up-to-date Operational Standards Manual.

· Manage the Training & Development budget, including tracking and oversight of associated expenses.

· Ensure eLearning systems are optimized and properly administered to maximize learning outcomes.

Internal Communications

· Lead the development and distribution of internal communications across the franchise system and Support Center using platforms such as The Dip, The Porch, and internal emails.

· Ensure communications are timely, brand-aligned, and engaging across newsletters, webinars, and internal portals.

· Monitor effective communication through analytics, providing insights for improvement.

· Ensure consistency in tone, formatting, and brand standards across all communication materials.

· Collaborate cross-functionally to source, develop, and execute content that supports broader business strategies.

Content Development and Systems Oversight

· Review and approve all training and operational content for accuracy and alignment with business goals.

· Design and produce engaging multimedia training tools and job aids that drive sales, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

· Ensure all training materials are organized, current, and properly stored within the LMS (e.g., Front Porch).

· Maintain clear records and documentation to support training scalability and future updates.

Slim Chickens systems principles and objectives: Has a thorough understanding of Slim Chickens' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies, safety) and recognizes the responsibility to stay updated on these systems and the role this position plays in supporting them.

Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives: This position description is designed to guide the activities of the Sr. Director of Training and Communication. It is not meant to restrict the individual's creativity or limit their thinking, nor does it encompass all the tasks that may be required in this role.

Physical Activities: Primarily performed in an office environment. Involves entering and retrieving information on a computer and visually verifying details, often in small print. May also require presenting information to small or large groups.

Travel: Occasionally requires travel to multiple restaurants or work sites, which may include overnight stays. Travel can be domestic or international.
