About the role
OVERVIEWAmerican Battery Technology Company (ABTC) is an industry-leading battery metal and critical materials, technology development, and commercialization company. Our Pilot Plant in Fernley, Nevada will be the first integrated implementation of our multi-step processing train for the full mechanical processing, physical separations, chemical extractions, and production of commercial-scale battery metals that will be resold back into the battery manufacturing supply chain to enact a low-cost, low environmental impact, and domestically sourced closed-loop circular economy. ABOUT THE JOB As a material handler, you will be responsible for unloading product deliveries, maintaining finished goods in the warehouse, and moving work in progress (WIP) and other materials to support production. The ideal candidate for the material handler position is a diligent worker who can complete tasks successfully with little to no guidance. This position will report to the Production Supervisor. This shift also includes an 8% shift differential. RESPONSIBILITIES· Deliver parts to the production line and prepare shipments for offsite locations· Stock & organize inventory· Operate safety sensitive and heavy equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, boom lifts, and more· Load and unload material onto or from delivery vehicles, trailers, pallets, balers, and conveyors· Assemble crates and containers, and prepare materials for transport by palletizing, wrapping, loading, and moving· Support production as needed· Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to Supervisor · Report any equipment damages or repairs needed to Maintenance and Supervisor· Complete physical tasks as directed, including but not limited to pushing, pulling, gripping, twisting, reaching, etc.· Maintain a clean and orderly work area.· Other duties as required and assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS· Forklift experience required.· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., unassisted · Must have a strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.· Punctuality and a professional, can-do attitude are a must· Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions for specialized equipment· Escalate technical problems to the appropriate support groups and leaders· Follow safety guidelines, manufacturing instructions· Evaluate the assembly processes and equipment to look for continuous improvement opportunities· Complete other duties as assigned/support cross-functional teamsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS · Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS · Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods. · Ability to walk throughout the plant. · Ability to bend at the waist. · Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. · Ability to wear PPE which includes but is not limited to the following: eye and face protection, hearing protection, respirators, and protective shoes and shoe coverings. · Must have 20/20 or corrected vision. · Ability to perform repetitive duties. · Ability to work in environments that may include exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals for extended periods of time.
