Position Summary
Lirio is offering a unique opportunity for an experienced software engineer who's skilled in software engineering, technical leadership, solutions architecture, distributed systems, and cloud native technologies to join us in meeting the challenge to improve the lives of healthcare patients by leading the development of an enterprise deployment capability for our Kubernetes-based behavior change AI platform. This is a chance to contribute to Lirio’s core platform and enterprise solution, working with innovative modern software distribution tools by Replicated.
The Staff Software Engineer is responsible for researching, designing, developing, and deploying software solutions; improving engineering processes; making technical decisions; driving technology adoption; working with other technical leaders to alter the engineering landscape. Additionally, the Staff Software Engineer may have people leadership responsibilities and provides support and leadership across the organization.
To succeed in this role, the Staff Software Engineer will need strong experience with Kubernetes and cloud platform providers like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform, and will also need proven distributed system development experience using Python or Java.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as Tech Lead for Enterprise Squad, responsible for technical aspects of Lirio’s Enterprise Solution
- Perform solution architecture tasks such as system designs and design reviews
- Design, implement, test and deploy production application software as a top-level contributor
- Write exemplary clean and maintainable code with appropriate tests
- Support and improve Lirio’s engineering practices including an emphasis on quality and security
- Document architectural decisions, design patterns, and best practices
- Review code and design contributions from others, promoting readability and maintainability
- Assist in project planning, estimation, and resource allocation
- Mentor other engineers, coaching and leading by example in terms of software craftsmanship and modeling a culture of collaboration and respect
- Implement and support build & CI pipeline engineering efforts as needed
- Pursue continuous learning through individual study, online courses, product documentation, and community resources to bring innovation to the technical organization
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years with software development and architecture
- 5+ years developing secure, scalable, enterprise systems using Java or Python and DevOps principles
- Strong Kubernetes experience as a developer, deployer and supporter of workloads
- Knowledge of distributed systems running on cloud infrastructure
- System design ability: can break ambiguous problem statement into concrete requirements and craft an architecture and design that satisfies them
- Desire to innovate, grow, and make a difference in the world by working with modern technology and a great team to achieve worthwhile healthcare goals
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Replicated tools
- Experience with microservices and eventually consistent architectures
- Experience with Kubernetes deployment tools like Helm and ArgoCD
- Experience with Asynchronous messaging using Apache Kafka
- Experience with Build Tools like Gradle or Poetry, and CI-Pipelines like Azure DevOps or similar
- Experience with Datadog or other observability platforms
- SRE experience with large scale cloud-based systems
- Experience with ML Operations or Data Operations tools
- Bachelor of Science degree
