The HMDA & Mortgage Quality Assurance Specialist will collect, validate, and analyze loan data to ensure compliance with HMDA reporting requirements. The Specialist is responsible for overseeing and performing various functions in connection with working a draft HMDA LAR extract to be supplied to Compliance. This includes responsibility for collecting and validating HMDA reporting information, entering or revising collected data into appropriate reporting software, and participating in exporting the HMDA LAR information as needed to Compliance. In addition, this position would include (as time is made an allowed) be responsible for testing files for high level regulatory compliance (X, Z, B etc.). This would be done on a test basis on active pipeline files.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collect and validate HMDA data for active mortgage files.
2. Spot check files for regulatory compliance (X,Z,B etc.).
3. Interact with Compliance on HMDA LAR filing needs.
4. Collect, validate, and analyze loan data to ensure compliance with HMDA reporting requirements.
5. Enter data into reporting software and verify the accuracy of the information in the reporting software. Review data entry of fellow team members to ensure accuracy through second review process.
6. Ensure HMDA data is complete and accurate prior to the monthly LAR.
7. Collaborate as needed with other mortgage department employees and other bank departments as it pertains to HMDA.
8. Research and resolve HMDA exceptions identified.
9. Perform random loan selection for the pre-funding and post-closing quality control reviews in accordance with department policies.
10. Compliance with any and all BSA/AML/CFT and Sanctions requirements set forth by Bank Policy and Procedure, including but not limited to timely completion of assigned training.
SECONDARY DUTIES
The position performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned by management, including:
1. Participate in the design and development of HMDA procedures, processes, controls, and training programs.
2. Participate in HMDA audits and assessments.
3. QC regulatory compliance in active mortgage files, as time allows.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position is not responsible for the supervision of staff.
ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
Remote work is acceptable in this position.
The incumbent is in a non-confined office setting in which they are free to move about at will. In the course of performing the duties and responsibilities of this position spends time writing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 25 pounds), sitting, typing on a computer keyboard, and standing, kneeling and reaching.
The incumbent for this position may operate any of all of the following: telephone, copy and fax machine, adding machine, computer and related printers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
These specifications are guidelines based on the minimum experience required to perform the essential functions of the job. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines:
• High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five years’ experience in HMDA operations and compliance review.
• Experience with loan origination systems, particularly Calyx Point or PATH, is highly desired.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Precise attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective oral and written communications skills.
• Willingness to learn and apply federal and state regulations for HMDA and other regulations applicable to the mortgage and banking industry required.
