Overview
BerryDunn’s Outsourced Accounting Group (OASPG) is seeking a Senior Manager to play a key leadership role in the growth, delivery, and strategic direction of our healthcare-focused Outsourced Accounting Services (HC-OAS). This individual will lead and develop a specialized HC-OAS team, own day-to-day delivery quality across multiple engagements, and serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare clients, delivering high-quality outsourced accounting, financial management, and advisory services.This role is ideal for a senior professional with deep outsourced accounting experience, strong people leadership skills, and a solid understanding of the healthcare industry. The position may be remote or based out of one of BerryDunn’s Northeast offices.
Travel Expectations: Travel is generally limited; occasional travel is expected for key client meetings and select project phases, approximately 10% travel.
You Will
- Provide leadership in the continued development, expansion, and execution of BerryDunn’s healthcare outsourced accounting services, including contributing to service strategy, pricing models, and business planning
- Serve as a primary client relationship leader for HC-OAS engagements, acting as a trusted advisor to healthcare organizations on accounting, finance, and operational matters
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of professionals dedicated to healthcare outsourced accounting services, including coaching, performance management, workload planning, and professional development
- Oversee and actively participate in the delivery of healthcare outsourced accounting services, including general ledger oversight, month-end close processes, financial statement preparation, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and review of balance sheet reconciliations
- Provide oversight of outsourced accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and internal controls support
- Review and interpret financial results with client leadership teams, translating financial information into actionable insights and recommendations
- Collaborate closely with BerryDunn’s broader Outsourced Accounting Services (OAS) team to align resources, share best practices, and enhance consistency and quality of service delivery
- Build healthcare-specific accounting knowledge across the OAS team, including reimbursement considerations, regulatory compliance impacts, and industry benchmarks
- Participate in client proposals, presentations, and business development efforts related to healthcare outsourced accounting services
- Provide consultative support to healthcare clients, including financial feasibility analysis, process improvement initiatives, and optimization of financial operations
You Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Active CPA license
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant experience in outsourced accounting and/or advisory services
- Demonstrated experience managing complex client relationships and leading client-service teams
- Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple concurrent engagements
- Ability to analyze financial information, identify issues, and provide practical, strategic solutions
- Experience communicating effectively with clients, including facilitating meetings and presenting to leadership groups
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
- Positive, proactive leadership style that motivates and develops others
Preferred:
- Hospital and/or other healthcare accounting experience (reimbursement, close, reconciliations, audit readiness, and reporting cadence)
- Experience leading multi‑engagement delivery (capacity planning, budgeting/billing discipline, and quality review)
- ERP exposure in healthcare environments (e.g., Infor, Workday, Oracle, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, etc.)
- Experience supporting system transitions and integration-related finance requests without disrupting month‑end
- Prior experience managing or mentoring managers/seniors/staff
Compensation Details
The base salary range targeted for this role is $130,000 - $150,000. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on factors such as company and personal performance.
