Health Unit Coordinator at Providence Portland Medical Center (Full-time, Night)
Starting hourly rate is $18.25/hr and increases based on your years of experience
The Health Unit Coordinator is a key person within the nursing unit, who provides overall administrative and technical assistance and support in the operation of the assigned nursing unit; and collaborates with other staff and leaders in the development, oversight, and operation of the unit. This position is the hub of all communication to and from the nursing unit; and greatly impacts the "tone" of the unit/shift.

Required Qualifications:
- Medical terminology course or equivalent educ/experience
- Upon hire: National Certification Health Unit Coordinator
- 1 year experience performing secretarial duties in healthcare, or equivalent training in a recognized healthcare program
- Experience with a variety of software applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year post high school education
- Satisfactory completion of health unit coordinator coursework or equivalent educ/experience
- Experience as a preceptor/role model
