About the role

Summary:

 The Director of IT Enterprise Infrastructure plans, directs, and manages the activities of the infrastructure departments (Network Engineering and Operations, Telecom and Unified Communications, Compute and Storage Infrastructure, Endpoint Management and Operations and Data Center Infrastructure) and is responsible for the architecture for The Guthrie Clinic’s (TGC) infrastructure to enable delivery and high availability of standard, enterprise-wide related clinical, business and communication applications. This position will lead efforts in IT Modernization, Standardization and eliminating technical debt. This position works with TGC leadership to define and implement policies, procedures and technical solutions that ensure interoperability, manage security risks, lower total cost of ownership and provide a platform for scalable future growth. The Director will offer business rationale and perspective on technological problems and opportunities. This position will be a technology advocate throughout the organization for the effective application of technology to meet business needs and to support business changes and growth. This position is responsible for the direction of the IT Enterprise Infrastructure departments and management of the staff. Technology functions include server infrastructure and operating systems, server automation, systems management, virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, cloud computing, data protection, storage, database, load balancers, application support, networking, voice, endpoint infrastructure and operating systems, endpoint automation, patch management, monitoring, data center and cabling.

 

Experience:

  1. Minimum of ten (10) years of IT leadership experience with at least five (5) years in healthcare.
  2. Highly experienced senior level information systems professional with a strong technical background and proven track record of accomplishments in a large, complex multi-level organization.
  3. A track record of successfully implementing IT strategies at an enterprise level, including the selection, implementation, operation, and maintenance of large-scale systems over multiple hardware and software platforms.
  4. Strong knowledge of healthcare information systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner), cybersecurity and clinical operations.
  5. Prior experience delivering high availability systems in a 24/7 environment across geographically dispersed business units.
  6. Expertise in digital health solutions, including telehealth, AI, patient engagement, and cloud technologies.
  7. Experience in server infrastructure and operating systems, server automation, systems management, virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, cloud computing, data protection, storage, database, load balancers, application support, networking, voice, endpoint infrastructure and operating systems, endpoint automation, patch management, monitoring, data center and cabling.
  8. Demonstrated ability to facilitate evaluation of technologies and achieve consensus on technical standards and solutions among a diverse group of information technology professionals.
  9. A proven track record of motivating and managing diverse technical staff and resources in multiple projects through all life-cycle phases, while establishing direction and standards and maintaining a high level of user trust and confidence in the group’s knowledge of and concern for users’ business needs.
  10. Demonstrated commitment to customer service who has provided responsive and effective support, developed solid working relationships with customers, and delivered high quality, value-added services that met/exceeded customer expectations. 
  11. A strong business orientation with the ability to balance good judgment with bottom-line business orientation to systems technology that supports return-on-investment decisions.
  12. A technically strong individual with a broad and deep knowledge of server infrastructure and operating systems, server automation, systems management, virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, cloud computing, data protection, storage, database, load balancers, application support, networking, voice, endpoint infrastructure and operating systems, endpoint automation, patch management, monitoring, data center and cabling.
  13. Equally adept at developing technology strategies and the operation of existing technical infrastructures. Significant experience and knowledge of computing architecture and implementation of networked computing structures.
