About the role

Provide prompt and courteous customer service to staff, guests and clients by performing a variety of services related to office relocations, furniture moves and event set-up/tear-down on the South Bend Campus. Ensure safety and quality of furniture by checking for any needed repairs and/or replacement.
Reports to the Director of Facilities.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform in furniture set-ups /the tear-down of special events and general cleaning associated with the special event.

Performs a variety of task such as assisting in office relocations, furniture moving, public area setups etc. when required.

Communicates to the Director of Facilities the need of materials, reports damages of furniture, etc.

Provides support and may do follow up cleaning work with facility maintenance crew as needed or assigned by reporting or administrative supervisor.

Performs other duties as assigned consistent with commonly accepted practices.

Works to enhance and to maintain the overall appearance of the campus and grounds.

May assist in the removal of snow and ice from sidewalks and entry ways. Plus mowing & grounds maintenance.

PAY:

$ 15.50/hr

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge of and physical ability to operate equipment used in moving furniture.

Ability to read and understand floor plans and layouts of setups.

Must be able to push or pull 140 lbs.

Must be able to lift 40-50lbs.

Must possess a GED or High School diploma or be able to communicate both orally and written at the high school level.
