UHealth Information Technology department has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Systems Analyst 2 (Nursing Informatics). The Clinical Systems Analyst 2 (Nursing Informatics) works collaboratively with users of clinical information systems providing assistance in planning and implementing information operations for clinical departments and assuming responsibility for aspects of planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of clinical information systems. The incumbent on this position utilizes knowledge and skills of business operations, nursing and/or pharmacy practices to determine clinical functions that are suitable for computer applications and to ensure that clinical information systems are consistent with professional standards of clinical practice. He/she will analyze current and future end-user department requirements, procedures, and workflow, in order to provide application solutions that support and improve organization, division, and/or department operations. Finally, he/she will develop and maintain a positive working relationship with end-user departments to ensure optimal utilization of the hospital's clinical applications, while providing appropriate levels of end user training and education.

  • Assists with the coordination and the planning and organization of orders and clinical documentation content development.

  • Plans, organizes and facilitates processes to support physicians, clinical care team in development of order sets and physician documentation.

  • Plans, organizes and facilitates processes to support nursing and other disciplines to develop content for clinical documentation tools such as assessments, flow sheets, care plans and patient education tools.

  • Assesses content implementation strategies and the impact those strategies will have on workflows and operations.

  • Documents the current and future state workflows that are impacted by clinical documentation.

  • Understands how content and functionality impact practice workflow and plans accordingly.

  • Contributes to policy and procedure development that will be used in conjunction with the documentation of applications.

  • Achieves in-depth knowledge of the software and serves as a super user and support in the training of end users.

  • Contributes to practice workflow analysis and redesign.

  • Troubleshoots content problems or questions from users.

  • Participates in regular status reporting.

  • Prepares detailed content specifications as needed.

  • Maintains knowledge about all components of patient flow process from registration to discharge in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of Nursing required.

  • Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state of FL required.

  • Minimal of one certification in an Epic Clinical application

  • 2-3 years of relevant clinical or operational experience in an inpatient/outpatient clinical practice required.

  • Experience with implementing clinical information systems, especially epic installations specifically.

  • Previous informatics experience (i.e. super user, testing, trainer)

  • Good understanding of clinical workflows and integration of technology

  • Competent user of Microsoft Office products – including Excel, Visio, and basic PC troubleshooting

  • Demonstrated proficiency with information systems technology.

  • Demonstrated workflow process analysis and design.

  • Demonstrated ability to align and motivate key process stakeholders, including nurses, physicians, and other clinical/administrative staff.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with interdisciplinary teams.

  • Demonstrated clinical systems implementation skills.
