Accounting Manager

Ifyou’re looking for a workplace that champions both your personal growth and cutting-edge clientsolutions, consider joining our team. The Accounting Manager will report to our EVP – Finance and assist in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records.

What You'll Do:

• Lead accounting operations by overseeing multiple areas of the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while building scalable processes for a growing, lean organization
• Responsible for month end close process (preparation of monthly journal entries, reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, and preparation of monthly financial statement package)
• Evaluate and continually improve accounting procedures, processes, and systems to ensure standardized close process and efficient operations, including Financial Reporting, AP, Payroll, Equity and Treasury (i.e., creating recurring monthly journal entries)
• Supervise accounts payable process and work collaboratively to resolve vendor and/or billing issues
• Support implementation of internal controls, including identifying process improvements and operational efficiencies
• Manage the completion of ad-hoc data requests for financial statements and tax compliance reporting
• Act as resource to the organization for all finance and accounting-related questions and foster collaboration between departments to improve financial operations

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field
• 5+ years of financial and accounting experience. Mix of public accounting and private experience required. Prior employment in the advertising/marketing agency industry is preferred
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, and financial reporting standards
• Knowledge of financial accounting systems, including NetSuite
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and proven organizational skills
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines
• Ability to work both independently and deliver on responsibilities within a highly collaborative environment
• Experience supervising and mentoring, and training accounting staff
• Bonus Points: Experience with payroll administration
