JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics seeks to hire an undergraduate student to work part-time as an outreach assistant throughout the 2023/2024 academic year.  The selected candidate will use the software “Universe Sandbox” to create new visualizations and scripts for outreach programs that can be used during programs for visiting K-12 students or during community events held in Davey Lab.  The assistant will be expected to combine astronomy knowledge with best practices for creating engaging and educational experiences for non-experts.  Selected candidate will report to Dr. Christopher Palma.  Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.
