About this role:
- Wells Fargo is seeking a senior lead relationship manager in Wells Fargo Capital Finance's Lender Finance group. Lender Finance clients consist of specialty finance companies, including other asset-based lenders, factors, equipment leasing, and other non-bank lenders. The primary responsibility for this role includes credit administration for a portfolio of lender finance clients, analyzing borrowing bases, collateral and financial performance of borrowers, and reviewing and interpreting credit loan documents. This role will work closely with the various commercial banking partners (Corporate and Investment Banking, Middle Market Regional Banking, Leverage Finance, Financial Sponsor Coverage) and other Wells Fargo team members to build strong relationships, provide superior service and advice, and enhance other opportunities.
In this role, you will:
- Manage credit administration for Lender Finance clients, including specialty finance companies, asset-based lenders, factors, equipment leasing companies, and other non-bank lenders.
- Review and analyze borrowing bases, collateral trends, financial performance, cash flow, liquidity, leverage, working capital, repayment sources, and other key credit drivers.
- Interpret loan documentation and apply relevant credit policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and risk management standards.
- Lead portfolio reviews, interim underwriting memoranda, renewals, refinancings, and modifications of varying complexity.
- Partner with relationship managers, coverage teams, product partners, and senior leaders to understand client needs, identify credit opportunities, and deliver effective solutions.
- Advise leadership on complex credit situations, including industry trends, economic developments, regulatory considerations, and problem loan strategies.
- Prepare for and support periodic internal and external audits or exams.
- Build strong client and internal relationships through clear communication, sound judgment, and consistent execution.
- Expected to manage a complex credit portfolio with sound judgment, timely execution, and appropriate escalation of risks or issues.
- Expected to collaborate effectively with clients, coverage partners, product teams, credit partners, auditors, and senior leaders.
- Expected to maintain strong knowledge of relevant credit policies, compliance requirements, and market developments affecting lender finance clients.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of secured or specialized lending relationship management or portfolio management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Lender Finance portfolios, underwriting, or credit administration.
- Knowledge of asset-based lending structures, borrowing bases, collateral monitoring, and secured credit documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to advise senior leaders and partner across functions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and the ability to use financial and portfolio information to support credit decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
Job Expectations:
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
