This role supports the Neuromodulation Business Unit:
The Neuromodulation Business Unit pioneered the VNS (Vagus Nerve Stimulation) Therapy® system. LivaNova continues to advance medical device solutions for patients affected by Drug-Resistant Epilepsy (DRE) and Difficult-to-Treat Depression (DTD). There are 3 million people in the U.S. alone and one in three people with epilepsy are drug resistant. People with severe seizures have, on average, a shorter life expectancy and an increased risk of cognitive impairment particularly if the seizures developed in early childhood. In an effort to prevent seizures, VNS Therapy for DRE is delivered through a device that sends mild pulses to the vagus nerve at regular intervals throughout the day.
Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst partners with Finance and the Business (primarily Commercial and R&D) to deliver our short and long-term financial goals. Accomplishing this through utilizing financial analytical skills and tools to deliver business insights for business planning and reporting on financial performance. The role requires a desire to develop relationships with the business partners, and link financial information to support well thought out business decisions, in an effort to serve our customers and the DRE market.
General Responsibilities:
- Financial modeling and Data Analysis:
- Use process analysis, financial data, and analytical rigor to create financial models for decision support and benchmarking to further develop financial models
- Conduct thorough research of historical financial data for the purpose of helping discover and optimize opportunities for profitable investment
- Conduct in-depth analytical analysis to help understand the financial health of the organization for improved decision making
- Budgeting/Forecasting:
- Participate in quarterly revenue and cost forecasting, and formulate departmental budgets
- Compare anticipated and actual results, and identify areas of improvement
- Business Partnering:
- Support implementation of strategies to achieve the company’s short and long-term objectives
- Provide financial insights and data for effective decision-making and problem solving
- Financial Reporting: Analyze and report on current financial status
- Long-term financial planning:
- Liaise with the Business and Finance on long-term financial planning
- Process Improvement:
- Through automation and analysis
- Process standardization and simplification
- Accounting: Review transactions for proper accounting treatment
Skills and Experience:
- Experience: 3+ years progressive experience in Financial Analysis or similar
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of forecasting methods and analytical skills
- Demonstrable skills in effectively presenting financial data
- Strong strategic thinking and problem solving
- Proficient understanding of accounting concepts
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail and efficient in multitasking
- Systems/Tools:
- Strong user of finance software (ERP, Mgmt Reporting, CRM)
- Expertise in MS Excel (spreadsheet creation and advanced formulas)
Education:
- Master’s Degree in Finance or similar studies
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel may be required
Pay Transparency:
- A reasonable estimate of the annual base salary for this position is $75,000 - $125,000 + discretionary annual bonus. Pay ranges may vary by location.
