Join Our Team as a School Age Childcare Program Assistant!
Are you energetic, creative, and love working with kids? Do you believe in the power of play, learning, and laughter? The YMCA is looking for enthusiastic team players to join our School Age Childcare program — a safe, fun, and enriching environment for children before and after school.
What You’ll Do:

Help create a positive, nurturing, and engaging environment for children ages 5–12

Assist with homework, games, arts & crafts, and active play

Build relationships with children, parents, and fellow staff

Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities
-
Ensure safety, supervision, and smiles are always a top priority!
What We’re Looking For:

Passion for working with kids and making a difference

Positive attitude, reliability, and a team spirit

Experience in childcare or youth programs is a plus
-
Must meet state licensing requirements (we can help you get there!)

CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Have completed twelve college credits in any one hundred-level or above college coursework or equivalent as approved and verified in the electronic workforce registry by DCYF within five years of hire or promoted into this position.
- Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
- COVID-19 Vaccination Preferred
- Complete Pre-Hire requirements
- Complete and pass DCYF background check
- Negative TB
