A dynamic research laboratory in the Institute for Computational Medicine is seeking a Research Program Assistant with an understanding of healthcare settings and health information systems, a solid foundation in data and analytics, and excellent communication skills. Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, the individual will work with team members to assist with a project intended to deliver a healthcare software solution. This role requires accessing data to monitor software activities, performing data quality assurance checks, creating data summaries, and creating data tables for reports and papers. This position requires detailed data checking and implementing data-driven, reproducible data analyses and reporting processes. This role also requires participation in design team activities such as data summary design reviews and ideation sessions and partnering with developers and product managers to integrate research findings and designs into an existing product. The selected individual will also develop content according to project needs and may assist with special and related research projects and other tasks as assigned.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Knowledge of data science concepts and project organization.
- Proficient with processing large datasets using Python or R.
- Ability to pull structured and unstructured data from databases, websites, and other sites.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools
- Experience using version control.
- Strong analytic skills.
- Enthusiasm for new challenges, using creativity to find novel solutions.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Exposure to clinical datasets.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL, SQL studio, SQL Procedures, database software
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or graduation equivalent, with some college courses preferred.
- Some related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline.
- Prefer some related coursework or administrative experience.

Starting Salary Range: Min $15.25 - Max $23.00 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)
