What you'll do...

Position: Senior Software Engineer

Job Location: 640 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Generates the embeddings for textual data for building a content-based recommender system for serving ads on third-party websites, fine-tunes the NLP (Natural Language Processing) model to improve the accuracy. Uses Nvidia GPUs and NVIDIA GPU acceleration library for handling the large-scale data. Builds large scale content-based recommender system to build immersive shoppable content (e.g. recipes) recommendations and experience for walmart.com users. Applies Large Language Models (LLM) and Vector search to produce Generative-AI based recommendations. Uses classifier models from LLMs and deep learning to classify content into various categories. Builds feature engineering pipelines in Airflow and feature store for storing them. Designs and develops the end-to-end Machine Learning system design and architecture. Work closely with product managers and other engineers to understand requirements and translate them into elegant solutions. Stay abreast with the latest technology trends and innovations, especially in the areas of eCommerce and retail technology. Suggest and implement new Machine Learning and AI solutions that can enhance business capabilities. Tackle challenging problems, provide solutions, and make decisions that impact the overall effectiveness of the technology.

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering (any) or related field and 2 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering (any) or related field and 5 years of experience in large scale enterprise software development environment.

Skills required: Experience with machine learning, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, data mining or artificial intelligence. Experience using opensource frameworks including Scikit Learn, TensorFlow, Keras and PyTorch. Experience building data products and crunching terabytes of data. Experience with disparate technologies and the full model lifecycle ranging from data pipelines, data extraction, model training, model serving, labeling tools, ML-ops and ad-hoc tooling. Experience developing experimental and analytic plans for data modeling processes, using strong baselines and accurately determining cause and effect relations. Experience with statistical methods and advanced modeling techniques including XGBoost, Bayesian inference, Neural Networks, Graphical Models, SVM, Random Forest, NLP, Computer Vision and neural networks. Experience with software development languages including Python, SQL, R, Scala and Java. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $191,699/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.   Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
