THE POSITION: NEOGEN is looking for a Maintenance Technician with Electrical Emphasis to join our Randolph, Wisconsin team. Maintenance Technicians are responsible for performing and managing installations, repairs, and maintenance of facility, equipment, and grounds according to Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring accuracy and quality throughout the processes.
THE SCHEDULE - First Shift:
- Monday- Wednesday 6am-6pm
- Thursday 6am- 11:30am
- Enjoy 3.5 days' work week and 3.5 days' weekends!
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
The following and other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for performing and managing installations, repairs, and maintenance of the facility, equipment, and grounds.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures.
- Installs and repairs electrical and electronics components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronics test equipment.
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machines, such as relays, switches and motors and positions sensing devices.
- Scope of work to include basic wiring / cabling, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, painting, assembly, and general repairs.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, renovates, installs, operates, and maintains facilities, fixtures, equipment, and grounds.
- Repairs mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
- Assists with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on HVAC system
- Completes maintenance work orders as assigned and in a timely manner
- Identifies and performs services and repairs on plumbing fixtures
- Identifies and assists with carpentry and repair work
- Operates a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools, including saws, router, drills, sanders, planers, drill presses, and various hand tools
- Maintains inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment
- Recommends tools, supplies, and equipment for purchase
- Wears proper protective equipment while performing job duties
- Performs assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision
- Coordinates activities of outside contractors as needed
- Manages preventative maintenance program, and performs scheduled preventative maintenance
- Installs and removes heavy equipment
- Uses diagnostic tools to inspect and test all machinery and equipment
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or manager

REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s and calculate percent.
- Ability to perform these calculations using units of American weight and measurement.
- Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at least at a normal 8th grade level due to safety considerations.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural documents.
High school education with a minimum of 5 years work experience in maintenance trade or vocational school.
Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, refrigeration equipment, and plumbing systems preferred.
