Job Role Summary

The Mobile Equipment Repairer performs essential maintenance and repair tasks for motor vehicles, tractors, trailers, generators, and small engines. This role involves conducting routine service duties, inspecting vehicle conditions for safety, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Technician will also stay updated on technology and attend training as necessary to maintain skills. Perform other duties as assigned to support other technicians.

Day in Life: In this role, your day will be a blend of shop and fieldwork. You will conduct routine maintenance and repairs on various vehicles and equipment, including motor vehicles, tractors, and small engines. Much of your time will be spent in the shop, where you'll use diagnostic tools to identify issues, perform repairs, and ensure that all equipment is safe and operational. Occasionally, you will be called to perform mobile repairs in the field, addressing mechanical issues directly on-site to minimize downtime. Throughout the day, you will also collaborate with other technicians, maintain a clean workspace, and engage in ongoing training to develop your skills and stay current with industry practices.

Essential Duties

Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance (91%)  

  • Perform basic maintenance and intermediate repair of all corporate vehicles and support equipment safely and on time.
  • Assist other technicians with maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Refuel vehicles and operate the corporate refueling station efficiently.
  • Retrieved and delivered various materials, supplies, and automotive components as directed.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections to evaluate roadworthiness and address defects in compliance with Department of Transportation standards.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure timely repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles and equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors for parts and supplies and ensure inventory is maintained.
  • Continuous Learning (10%) 

  •  Stay current with technology and practices relevant to vehicle maintenance and repair. (Core Competency.
  • Attend training sessions to ensure skill levels meet job requirements.

Associated Job Duties

  • Participate in public health emergency preparedness exercises and responses as directed.
  • Participate in a minimum of two H.O.P.E. events totaling at least eight (8) hours annually.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assist with additional tasks as needed by the team.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain timely and accurate information in the vehicle data file
  • Participate in safety training and adhere to all safety protocols in shop and field environments.

Qualifications

Hands-On Repair & Maintenance

    • 5-7 years of professional experience in automotive or diesel repair, or equivalent.
