Join us for a summer (May or June start) and fall (early to mid December end) co-op. You would need to take the fall semester off. In this role you will work with a team of experienced manufacturing engineers developing cost effective solutions to manufacture cargo handling systems for commercial and military aircraft.  You will be exposed to routine manufacturing issues that will utilize your skills in troubleshooting problems and gain experience in methods utilized in industry to efficiently produce products.  You will be assigned projects that utilize your creativity to implement solutions to various problems encountered in manufacturing. This role is onsite, in Jamestown, ND. This role may be eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do:

  • You will develop manufacturing planning for cargo system details and assemblies. Core competencies at Jamestown include machining, sheet metal fabrication, processing, painting and assembly (both Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical).
  • You will work on the development of Illustrated Standard Work Combination Sheets (ISWCS) for cargo system assemblies.
  • You will participate in Continuous Improvement events to improve flow and linkage, increase point of use, develop standard work, reduce cycle time, and improve EHS and 5S.
  • You will work on special projects and tasks as required by the department Manufacturing Engineers.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prefer candidates in Junior year pursuing a degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace) or another related field.
  • Background in utilizing MS Office, CAD, and some programming experience.
  • Some programming background preferred – Python.
