Assistant or Associate Professor in Graduate Online Education

Greenville University is seeking an innovative scholar to serve as a full-time tenure-track assistant or associate professor in Graduate Online Education in the School of Education to start in August 2024. The successful candidate will provide an experiential learning environment that is innovative and relevant. The selected candidate must provide evidence of a vibrant Christian faith, clearly understand and internalize the mission of Greenville University, and articulate the value of Christian higher education.
Greenville University is seeking a dynamic and experienced educator to serve as Professor of Online Graduate Studies with a focus on capstone coursework. The successful candidate will have a strong background in online education, expertise in developing and facilitating capstone experiences, and a commitment to fostering academic excellence in graduate students. This position offers the opportunity to lead and shape the culminating academic experiences for students in online graduate programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development and Instruction:
- Develop, design, and deliver online courses focused on capstone experiences within the graduate programs.
- Create engaging and interactive learning materials, assignments, and assessments that align with program objectives and accreditation standards.
- Provide timely feedback and support to students to facilitate their successful completion of capstone projects.
Capstone Project Supervision:
- Guide students through the process of conceptualizing, planning, and executing their capstone projects.
- Serve as a mentor and advisor to students, offering expertise and guidance in research methodologies, project management, and academic writing.
- Foster a supportive and collaborative environment for students to explore their research interests and demonstrate their learning outcomes.
Faculty Development and Support:
- Collaborate with faculty members teaching in the online graduate programs to ensure alignment of capstone coursework with program objectives and standards.
- Provide professional development opportunities for faculty on best practices in capstone project supervision and assessment in an online environment.
- Mentor and support adjunct instructors teaching capstone courses, offering guidance and resources to enhance their effectiveness.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Develop assessment strategies and rubrics to evaluate student learning outcomes and the quality of capstone projects.
- Conduct regular assessments of the capstone course curriculum and make recommendations for improvements based on student feedback and programmatic goals.
- Participate in program assessment and accreditation processes to ensure the quality and effectiveness of capstone experiences.
Research and Scholarship:
- Engage in scholarly activities related to online education, capstone pedagogy, and relevant fields of study.
- Publish research findings and/or present at conferences to contribute to the broader academic community and advance knowledge in the field.
Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate in a educational field of study.
- Substantial experience teaching and developing online graduate courses, with a focus on capstone experiences.
- Demonstrated expertise in research methodologies, academic writing, and project management.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
