Student: Engineering Assistant

Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking to hire a talented undergraduate student with more than a year of school remaining. Applicants should have some familiarity in one or more of the following areas:

• Software and/or electronic hardware test & troubleshooting
• Programming and/or scripting in Python, C++, and/or Windows Powershell
• Network protocol experience http/https, Active Directory, LDAP, FTP/SFTP
• Experience with Virtualization, Containers and/or Docker

Required Qualifications:

• Must be a USU student with at least one year remaining. Preference will be given to those pursuing a computer engineering, electrical engineering, Physics or computer science degree. Other closely related technical degrees will also be considered
• Must be able to work 15-20 hours/week during the school year and up to 40 hours/week during the summer, preferably in 4+ hour blocks of time

• Experience with Python, C/C++ and/or Java
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
• Must be consistently detail-oriented, organized, and attentive to detail
• Able to work well individually and as part of a team
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience creating detailed reports.
• Experience with Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket
• Willingness to learn about and use a wide array of technologies, different programming languages, and complex systems
