CSG is organized by core customer-facing lines of business to manage and grow programs within the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), United States Geological Survey (USGS), and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), while extending our capabilities to other civilian federal government agencies fully integrated within Aerospace rules, regulations, processes, values, and behaviors.
Within the CSG, the Human Exploration and Space Flight (HESF) Division and Civil Space Operation’s Division supports our NASA customer in all aspects of human space flight (HSF) and program office activities. This position will support NASA’s Human Exploration Programs and help facilitate strategy and acquisition implementations. In this role you will be responsible meeting with NASA leaders and determining acquisition approach, support Source Evaluation Board activities and support evaluation processes of current acquisitions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Serve as a technical and programmatic advisor and acquisition expert to NASA
- Supports acquisition planning with the Program Office (which program Office?) and stakeholder organizations
- Advises Program Office on acquisition matters, strategies and policy, this includes evaluating alternate approaches and recommendations on ways to improve agency acquisition processes and policy
- Supports acquisition strategy development and facilitates reviews at the agency level, reviews can include Acquisition Strategy Meetings (ASM) and procurement office initiatives
- Responsible for supporting reviews of contract performance and develops recommended approaches and supporting documentation, these reviews include contractor monthly progress reviews
- Performs surveillance, and insight of major program office activities and acquisitions, this includes evaluation of deliverables as well as cost and schedule matters at the contractor level
- Position Aerospace in the highest value functions across the NASA portfolio, translate customer technical operating plans into technical priorities, manage budget constraints, plan and execute staffing as required.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or closely related technical field
- 15 or more years of experience in program/project management, engineering, and in commercial and international relations
- Demonstrated program/project management acumen and results.
- Demonstrated NASA experience in technical, cost, schedule and risk evaluation.
- Excellent verbal communication skills - clear, concise, persuasive; builds consensus through speaking; polished, professional style.
- Excellent written communication skills - organize complex materials and concepts in clear and logical manner
- Proven ability to develop/maintain rapport and work effectively with senior government officials
- Dynamic self-starter with attention to detail, work ethic, strategic thinking regarding customer needs, competitive positioning, the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work within a team environment, where the team is distributed across multiple NASA Organizations, Projects and Programs
- This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
